MAP- Art is Life

Art is Life was an annual arts festival held at the Museum of Art & Photography, bringing together exhibitions, performances, workshops, talks, and community-led events across the museum. At Studio Ping Pong, I worked on the visual identity system and a wide range of digital and print collaterals for the festival. The project involved creating a flexible branding system that could extend across multiple formats and scales while capturing the energy, openness, and multidisciplinary nature of the event.

Ideation

The visual direction for the festival drew heavily from collage as a medium. Collage felt fitting for Art is Life because of how open, accessible, and universal it is. Different fragments, textures, images, and forms can coexist within the same composition, much like the festival itself bringing together people, practices, and disciplines from different backgrounds. As part of the identity system, we also used shapes derived from the floor maps of the museum building to construct layouts and graphic compositions.

Digital Collaterals

The system was extended across a broad set of digital collaterals for the festival. This included social media posts, reel videos, animated promotional content, schedule screens displayed within the museum, event-specific posters, and website assets.

Print Collaterals

The identity system was also adapted across a wide range of print collaterals throughout the festival space. This included large-format banners, entrance stands, wayfinding elements, and printed schedule booklets that helped visitors navigate the events and exhibitions.
